Blokzijl, with its picturesque streets and cosy terraces, is located on the edge of National Park Weerribben-Wieden, where you can enjoy the beautiful nature. Forget your daily worries for a while and relax in "Slapen bij de Sluizzz" !
Welcome at Slapen bij de sluizzz
In the cosy heart of Blokzijl, right next to the lock with all its activity and star restaurant “Kaatje bij de Sluis”, you will find a unique accommodation.
Mariejanne and Johan Schoppert (owners of the shops Yep! at the Brouwerstraat), have created 3 beautiful rooms with different atmospheres and layouts in the former lockkeeper’s house. The rooms are therefore in new condition.
The supermarket, shops, cafes and restaurants are all within 80 meters of the rooms. There is also a beautiful outdoor swimming pool within walking distance.

Terraskamer
In the terrace room (as the name suggests) you have your own terrace, right next to the lock. There is a 2-person luxury lounge set and a floating parasol. Here you can relax and watch the activity around and in the lock with a nice glass of wine.
Sluis Suite
Do you want to stay a bit longer in Blokzijl? Then the Sluis suite (Lock Suite) is just right for you! With its own fully equipped kitchen with hob, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker, kettle, refrigerator and a combi oven, you can stay here completely self-supporting if you wish.
Loft room
At the top of the building, on the 2nd floor, you will find the Loft room. After an active day in the national park and a dinner in one of the many restaurants in Blokzijl or the surrounding area, you can relax here. The Loft room has the largest bathroom in the building.

You can use our breakfast service for a fee. This costs € 12.50 per person / per night and can be ticked when booking as an extra option.
Payment is made on the day of arrival at check-in.
You can have breakfast in the breakfast room on the ground floor or on the terrace in front of the building (directly on the lock).

Sloop and Giethoorn Punter rental
If you want a day or evening trip through the Weerribben with skipper/guide, the “Schoppenvrouw” is for rent (€ 100 per hour, maximum 12 guests). With this luxurious former lifeboat of almost 9 metres length and the skipper who knows the area like the back of his hand and can tell a lot about the Weerribben, you will have a unique experience.
Various picnic or wine arrangements are possible. Ask about the possibilities.

Then you can use our sloop rental.
We have an electrically powered sloop of 5.5 meters length (€ 150 per day). It can be rented without a skipper (subject to availability) and booked at check-in.

Blokzijl
Blokzijl started as a settlement and later became a stronghold on the Zuiderzee. Here, Spanish enemy ships on their way inland were held back.
Later, Blokzijl became a lively trading town (unlike Vollenhove and Kuinre, Blokzijl was not a fishing village) and did business with merchants on the other side of the then Zuiderzee.
Walking past the Havenkolk in Blokzijl, it is noticeable that the atmosphere and the traditions have remained. Picturesque streets and pleasant terraces by the water create an atmosphere that you don’t often find in the Netherlands Blokzijl is certainly worth a visit!
